Environmental Engineering Sciences
The purpose of this course is to show how history and policy have shaped institutions and regulations as they pertain to natural resources and the environment. This course addresses the premise that environmental land managers need to understand the legal context of their work. Awareness of law as it relates to these functions permits greater efficiency and lower costs in environmental, natural resource, and land management. This course provides an introductory overview of U.S. public policy, institutions and regulations pertaining to the environment and natural resources. The course is a primer that will enable business managers, public officials, educators, land managers and civic activists to acquire additional knowledge more efficiently as their interests and responsibilities require them to do so. The contents of this course are not, and must not be construed to be, a substitute for competent legal counsel.
