Veterans' Benefits

All veterans, service personnel and dependents using VA educational assistance while enrolled at University of Florida's UF EDGETM program should contact the Office of Veterans' Affairs. Veterans' Benefits are administered by the Office of Veterans' Affairs, located in the Registrar's office, which assists veterans and their dependents who are entitled to VA educational benefits. All college-credit degree programs offered through the UF EDGETM program are state-approved for the use of VA educational benefits. For more information, please visit the Registrar's website

Students may pay their tuition and fees by the following methods:

  1. On-line Credit Card Payments: A 2.6% service charge will be added to all MyUFL (my.ufl.edu) credit card transactions. MyUFL transactions include the payment of student tuition, fees and account receivable charges (i.e. laser print, library fines, infirmary etc) Only MasterCard, Discover and American Express will be accepted for these transactions. Visa does not allow this type of service charge therefore, is not a payment option on MyUFL.

  2. Free E-Checks: The University of Florida does not apply a service charge to Electronic checks (EFT). To use this method of payment, go to my.ufl.edu and choose "My Campus Finances" then "Make a Payment" under "Main Menu" (at the top). When giving financial institution information, be sure to double-check that you have entered your account number and bank routing number correctly or you will encounter a returned item fee. If your EFT is returned you will be required to pay your tuition and fees plus the returned check fee by, money order or cashier's check. This fee can be anywhere from $10.00 - $40.00 depending on the face value of the returned item. Because this is a fee the University of Florida is charged by the bank, it is not petitionable. In addition you will be charged the $100.00 late payment fee.

  3. Other payment options: To avoid service charges there are a variety of other free payment methods available. A student can mail a check to UF for payment of fees. However, when mailing a payment it must arrive in the cashier's office by the fee payment deadline. Remember to put your UF ID on your check and mail it to:
    University of Florida
    University Financial Services
    S113 Criser Hall
    PO Box 114050
    Gainesville, FL 32611-4050

ATTENTION: Students whose employers are billed for their tuition.

The University of Florida Financial Services office considers an employer who requests an invoice to pay an employee's tuition and fees a Third Party Donor

University of Florida Financial Services requires that all students whose employers are paying their tuition directly to UF sign an acknowledgement form once while earning their degree. You need to email this and your 3rd party donor form to Sandy Bell in University Financial Services at bellsp@ufl.edu. If you want the EDGETM office to keep a back up copy of your documents, you can email them to ufedge-admin@eng.ufl.edu. In cases where you do not have access to a scanner and/or email you can fax the information to Sandy Bell at 352-846-3576 and to the EDGETM office at 352-846-2255. Deadlines for the submission of these forms are the same as the fee payment deadline each semester.

For more information on the rules and regulations on setting up a 3rd Party Donor, please click here

State Agency Tuition and Fee Waiver

Another possible method of payment for students who are employed by a state agency is the State Agency Tuition and Fee Waiver Program. Waivers will only be accepted by UF EDGETM if the enrollment in a course has reached 25 non-waiver students by the first day of drop and add.
Please note: the University of Florida does not waive Distance Learning or Material & Supply fees. The student is responsible for paying these fees by the tuition and fee payment deadline. If they are not paid, the student will be charged a $100 late payment fee. (Please see Restrictions on the State Agency Employee Tuition Fee Waiver Application for more detailed information)

University of Florida Employee Education Program If a University of Florida employee cannot take time off from work to take classes they may take courses through UF EDGETM and use the EEP Tuition Assistance. However, EEP will not pay the distance learning fee of $90.00 per credit hour. To begin the application process go to http://www.hr.ufl.edu/education/eep/login.asp

In addition, the University of Florida does not cover all courses. You must consult the schedule of courses http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/soc/ to verify your course is an approved course. Courses without a Y in the EEP column are not approved courses to be covered by the fee waiver. (i.e. course numbers such as 6932, 6905, 6971, 7979, 7980 and others)

If you course is approved for the waiver you will receive an email from the UF EDGETM office stating approval. Do not assume a course is covered. If you have questions please contact the UF EDGETM office before the end of drop/add.

The Tuition and Fee Waiver forms can be found by going to the University of Florida Registrar website. http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/currents/specialregistrations.html#4 The instructions on this site are for students taking the campus section of courses. Because you are an EDGETM student, the instructions are slightly different. Please follow the procedures below and do not submit the waiver to the Registrar as stated on the form. This will only delay processing.

  1. The requirement to submit the Mandatory Immunization and Health History form is waived.
  2. You do not have to wait until the last day of drop/add to submit the Tuition and Fee Waiver form or to register through MyUFL. You can register once your non-degree application form has been approved and you have submitted your UF EDGETM pre-registration form.
  3. Do not submit the Tuition and Fee Waiver form to the Registrar, instead, fax it to the UF EDGETM Program office at 352-846-2255 or email it to Ruth Bryant rbrya@eng.ufl.edu no later than the first day of drop/add.

NOTE:

You may be eligible for Federal Financial.Aid. Consult the Student Financial Aid Website for more information: http://www.sfa.ufl.edu/
